Since doing the webinar I've found an even better example of a landing page for a newsletter that doesn't use a lead magnet: Routine Hacker from Panda Planner.
Like other good landing pages it doesn't have overt navigation to guide the visitor away. And it focused on the benefits fo the subscription: The Tips & Tools to be Happy, Successful & In Control.
