WINNING CLIENTS FROM TWITTER - TIPS FROM HEATHER TOWNSEND
It's still a topic of huge debate. Can you actually win clients with social media? And does it give a decent return on your time investment?
In this bonus audio I interview Heather Townsend - author of the bestselling Financial Times Guide to Business Networking on how she and others have used Twitter to initiate and build relationships that lead to clients.
In it we cover how to start relationships effectively on Twitter. How to "flip" them to get engaged with your potential client outside social media. And then how to use Twitter to maintain relationships.
We also cover how to avoid wasting your time on social media, and the tools you can use to be more productive.
The interview lasts about 40 minutes.
In the interview Heather mentions a few tools you can use:
Tweetdeck and Hootsuite - Twitter dashboards to use twitter more productively than the basic website interface. Tweetdeck runs on your desktop. Hootsuite runs as a web application.
Followerwonk - is a set of tools for Twitter including the ability to do advanced searching of Twitter bios and to track and analyse your followers.
Buffer - allows you to schedule your social media updates throughout the day.
Socialoomph - Tweet scheduling with some automation features.
Tweetspinner - Follower management and analytics (Now part of Followerwonk).
Tweet Old Post - Plugin for WordPress that allows you to schedule random tweeting of your old blog posts.
Twitterfeed - Allows automatic tweeting of any RSS feed (ie blog posts) from your site or any other on the web.
Cube Social - CRM system based around social media contacts.
Listen to the audio to find out how we recommend you use these tools.
