IMAGES AND IMAGE EDITING TOOLS
Having great images on your site can give it a really professional look and feel. In this video I show you:
- Where to source images for your site
- The different types of image formats and how they work
- How to compress images so you down't slow down your site
- Tools for editing images
Tools recommended in the video:
- TinyPNG/TinyJPG (free)
- CompressJPG (free)
- Snagit ($49 from Techsmith)
- Pixlr (free)
- Canva (free)
- Clipping Magic ($3.99 per month for 15 credits)
For free images (for blog posts/icons - not your main site imagery) you can do a google image search and in search tools select usage rights of "Labelled for reuse with modification). Double check the license of the images you find to make sure they're available for commercial reuse.
My favourite source of paid images is depositphotos.com. There are regular deals available on Appsumo.com - usually two or three times a year - for 100 images of any size for $40. Frankly, the time saved and the better images you vs free ones get are well worth a few dollars.
