BRAINSTORMING IDEAS FOR YOUR LEAD MAGNET

In this video we're going to start the process of creating your Lead Magnet by brainstorming ideas for the topics to cover and the title of the Lead Magnet.

The key steps in the process are:

  1. Go back and review your Customer Insight Map for your ideal client. Click here for the Momentum Club Tutorial.
  2. From that map, review the top problems, challenges, goals and objectives that are common across your ideal clients. Look for issues that are important and urgent for them.
  3. Pick one issue where you believe you’ll be able to come up with a good list of ideas that can help your clients in that area.
  4. Brainstorm as many ideas as you can for tips, suggestions, solutions and recommendations that you can give in this are. Four good sources are: your recent client work, previous products you've created, recent blog posts and other content, an assessment of what longer reports would be valuable to your clients.
  5. Select the most promising ideas and review them against the lead magnet checklist to finalise which to use (or if none work well, go back and pick another issue to work on).
  6. Search for lead magnets from your competitors. Check to make sure no one has done a similar lead magnet and that the ideas for your lead magnet are not freely available.
  7. Brainstorm titles for your lead magnet using the “Interest = Benefits x Curiosity” formula. Name the specific benefits they’ll get and (truthfully) imply simplicity, speed, practicality.

Watch the video for details on how to do this.
